It would be helpful from a summarising point of view if the last part of this chapter - about boldly approaching the throne of grace because of Jesus our great high priest - was part of chapter 5.

Chapter 5 is very short and all about Jesus' high priesthood so it would seem to make thematic and textual sense. And then I wouldn't have had to abridge so drastically!

V 12 For the word of God is alive and active.
This chapter provides immense food for thought.

What do you make of this chapter? What do you think of my summary? How would you summarise it?

I summarised all 1,189 chapters of the Bible on Twitter - one tweet per chapter, one chapter per day for over three years.

These are the summaries of the book of Hebrews.

They are written to help you understand and remember what's going on in the chapter, but they're no substitute for reading the Bible for yourself.
